Liora, a lone human girl, trades ten years of her lifespan for purifying spring water to save Kallen, the third dragon prince. Yet at the dragon clan banquet, she discovers the whole thing was a deceitful bet. Heartbroken by betrayal, she flees and gets dragged into the dragon succession war. To atone, Kallen sacrifices half his life to share his vitality with her, then slays the mastermind Karen. After the war, Liora retreats to a seaside hermitage.
